In my opinion, to avoid cultural conflicts is to study foreign cultures and maintain existing cultures. By studying foreign cultures, we will know how foreign cultures are and we must respect the differences between cultures so that cultural conflicts do not occur.

2.      How do you define your local culture is different from foreign culture ? Do you know and foreign cultures need to be integrated?  Please provide your reasons!

Answer :

Local culture is the original culture of a certain community group which is also the cultural characteristic of a local community group, while foreign culture is culture that comes from outside the community group itself. As a good society, we must be able to filter out incoming foreign cultures and must respect every difference that exists. By combining the two cultures, there will certainly be something new that can enrich our culture.

3.      What is streotype and prejudice ? Does exist in your local culture ? Give example!

Answer :

Stereotypes means an assessment or assumption of someone based on the social group that person is in. Examples that I often hear in local culture are "Batak people are rough" "Padang people are stingy and calculating".

Prejudice is negative behavior that directs groups to individualists based on limited or misinformed information about the group. An example that I often encounter in local culture is when you see a person who has a tattoo, you immediately think he's a bad person.
